Jr High TCEA Robotics Team - Showing their inventions display at Region 16 TCEA Inventions Competition
On Saturday January 13th, the Kelton Junior High Robotics team traveled to Region 16 in Amarillo for the TCEA inventions competition. This competition is held annually and top placing teams move on to the state competition held in the Austin area. Teams must create a robot or invention that has not been created and that meets a need in our area of Texas. This year Kelton was represented by the Phoenix Corporation and their Fire Fighting Robot (FFR). Aletheia, Sarina, Baylei, and Audree make up the Phoenix Corporation. The FFR is an automatic road grater that can sense wildfires and blade off the land in front of the fire to provide ground support for area fire departments. The Phoenix Corporation placed first which means they will advance along with Dimmit to the state competition.
